i have used this activity before with 2 - 3 yr olds using red, yellow, orange and brown paint for the leaves, which we made using handprints. i explained to the children about the different changes that happen with leaves in autumn and when they go brown and die they fall to the floor, so we stuck our brown leaves on the floor. the display looked lovely on the wall as the coooured leaves really drew attention to it, i will repeat the activity this year but will make a few changes such as collect real leaves when we go on a walk so we can examine them and stick them on to the display and also collect some sticls and twigs to stick on as branches.
