Nursery Activity Ideas - Cherry Tree Birthday Chart

A Bright way of displaying childrens birthdays, which all children can help create.

You will need:

  • Large pieces of paper
  • Green paint or collage material
  • Brown paint or collage material
  • Red paint

Activity:

Tape the large pieces of paper together and draw an outline of a tree, cut it out and let the children decorate it using the collage materials or paint. Once it has dried attach to the wall. Next, on another piece of paper draw a bunch of cherries (two cherries joined by a stalk), and cut them out, for each child to paint their own. Once they have dried take a picture of the child and cut around their face and stick it to one of the cherries, on the other cherry, write the child’s name and birthday. Once completed, stick all the cherries onto the tree.

If you are completing this activity with older children, you can discuss where cheries and some other foods come from, you could also let them taste cherries, as long as the stones have been removed first.
