Nursery Activity Ideas - Clown Birthday Chart

All children can enjoy creating this fun and colourful character to display birthdays in all nursery rooms.

You will need:

  • Large pieces of plain paper
  • A range of coloured paints
  • Colouring pencils or crayons
  • A range of collage material
  • Coloured wool or curling ribbon

Activity:

On the pieces of plain paper draw a large clown with one arm in the air, and either paint, colour or collage the clown in the children’s choice of colours and materials. Next draw enough balloons for each child in the group to colour or paint using their own preferences and choice of colours. On each balloon write the childs name, month and date of birth, you can even take a photo of the child, cut it out and stick it to the balloon.

Attach either coloured wool or curling ribbon to the bottom of the balloons, place the clown on the wall and place the balloons above the clowns head with the curling ribbon or wool in the clowns hand.
