This is a colourful and fun way to display children’s birthdays during the summer months. This activity is suitable for children of all ages.

Activity:
On the large pieces of paper draw and cut out twelve large ice cream cones with three scoops of ice cream on the top. As a group the children can colour the ice cream cones using their chosen materials. Attach the ice cream cones to the wall and label each one with the name of the month.
Next cut out small circles of paper, one for each child and write their names and date of birth on them. Older children may be able to do this themselves. Once completed attach these circles to the corresponding months ice cream.

As a child care worker I am always looking for activities that are away from the normal … eg balloons and I really like this idea. My group is under 2 but I can see the older ones creating this chart. Thanks
