Nursery Activity Ideas - Looking For Bugs

A fun activity for older children to explore the garden area and learn about different bugs and their environments.

Take the children into the garden with magnifying glasses and encourage them to explore, and look around different areas of the garden to find different bugs. If possible, allow the children to use small spades to dig in the earth and see what they can find.

This can be a good team activity that encourages a variety of social and language skills.

this activity was really interesting, the children liked digging up the mud and they found different bugs like ants, worms, ladybirds. The children expanded their investigation to leaves and tress and what the different things felt like.the children communicated with each other and worked together.
