“The Three Little Pigs” Brick House
A creative group activity to make an effective display, linking with a fairy tale topic based on the story of “the three little pigs”.
You will need:
- Large pieces of thick plain paper
- Brown Paint
- Scissors
- Mega Blocks
- Selotape
Activity:
Pour some brown paint into a tray or large bowl. Tape together several pieces of plain paper, and draw an outline of the “little Pigs” Brick house. Cut out the house and as a group, dip the bottom of the mega blocks into the paint and press onto the house outline. Once the house is covered in a brick pattern leave it flat to dry. When the house is dry it can be attached to the wall, along with the house of sticks and the house of straw to make an effective wall display.

A creative group activity more suitable for children over the age of two, linking with a fairy tale topic based on the story of “the three little pigs”.

You will need:
- Large pieces of thick plain paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Straw
- Selotape
Activity:
Tape together several pieces of plain paper, and draw an ouline of the “little Pigs” straw house. Cut out the house and as a group spread the glue onto the paper. Place the straw onto the glue so that it covers the house and leave flat to dry. Once the house is dry it can be attached to the wall, along with the house of bricks and the house of sticks to make an effective wall display.
With older children you can discuss with them what straw is and where it comes from, for example, to increase their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
