Nursery Activity Ideas - Make Your Own Playdough
A quick and easy way to make playdough which can provide children of all ages with lots of fun and learning opportunities.
You will need:
- Water
- Flour
- Food Colouring
- Bowl
Activity:
To make the playdough pour a few drops of food colouring into a jug of water. Pour some flour into a bowl and gradually stir in the water, if the colour of the flour looks too pale add some more food colouring to the mixture. If the mixture is too dry and does not combine, add some more water, and if it is too wet or sticky add more flour.
Kneed the mixture with your hands so that the playdough is fully coloured and no longer sticky, and you have a nice consistency to the dough. It is now ready for the children to play with and mould to make their own creations.
To make the playdough into more of a sensory activity, add essences such as lemon, strawberry or vanilla when you add the food colouring to the mixture.
