Nursery Activity Ideas - Mousse Play

A simple to set up messy activity, enjoyable for children of all ages. It also provides a sensory aspect to their play.

You will need:

• Mousse
• Bowl
• Tea set, containers or other toys

Activity:

Make up the mousse in the bowl, according to the instructions on the packet. Once the mousse has set, tip it onto the table or into a messy tray. place toys into the mousse such as tea sets, various containers, mega blocks or plastic animals for example. Allow the children to explore the mousse using these items, their touch, smell and taste.

With older children you can discuss, how the mousse feels, smells and tastes for example. You could also involve them in the mousse making process, where they will gain knowledge and understanding of what you need to make the mousse, but also how a product can change, in this case, setting once it has been in the fridge.
