Nursery Activity Idea #53 - Make A Velcro Number Board

A fun and hands on activity for children learning to count and recognise numbers.

Print out large colourful numbers onto card and laminate them, then attach a piece of velcro onto the back of the number. Attach these to a felt board or make a board using a large piece of card and more velcro. The children can order the numbers on the board or use them as part of their number songs.

Additional cards can be made with a set of objects on, for each of the number cards. Children can then match the numbers to the sets and place them onto the board. These sets of objects can be changed regularly to keep the children interested and to fit in with the rooms topic.
