Nursery Activity Ideas - Shark Parachute Game
Another parachute game for older children, to develop personal and social skills in an enjoyable game.
You will need:
- Parachute
Activity:
Unfold the parachute and lay it on the ground, ask the children to sit on the floor with their legs out stretched in front of them underneath the parachute. The children should hold the edge of the parachute and shake it.
Call out one child’s name to be the shark, when they are called they must crawl under the parachute and grab another child’s legs. When this happens that child must also go under the parachute and crawl to the sharks starting position while the shark sits in theirs.
Throughout the activity the children sitting in the circle must continue to shake the parachute.

Some of our timid children alittle nervous of shark idea so we adapted it to a fish with a rhyme-
Down in the water way down deep,
Into this water our little toes peek,
Around and around and around he/she goes,
Come up little fish and touch somebodys toes.
They love it.
