Nursery Activity Ideas - Create A Jointed Astronaut

A simple easy to set up creative activity, suitable for children over the age of two.

You will need:

  • Card or thick paper
  • Glue
  • Silver kitchen foil
  • Scissors
  • Split pins

Activity:

Draw an outline of a person onto the paper or card and cut it out, then cut the arms and legs off the astronaut. Next cut the foil into small pieces. Older children will be able to do this themselves.

Draw a face onto the astronaut, then spread glue onto the body, legs and arms and press the pieces of foil onto the glue. Once the astronaut has dried make small holes at the top of the arms and legs and in the shoulders and hips. Insert the split pins into these holes and fix the arms and legs into place on the body to complete the astronaut.
