Nursery Activity Ideas - Stained Glass Window Effect Sea Creatures
This is a simple colourful activity suitable for older children, to make a variety of bright Sea Creatures.
You will need:
- A4 card in a variety of colours
- Strips of tissue paper in a variety of colours
- Scisors
- Glue
Activity:
Cut out an outline of a fish, octopus, whale or animal of your choice in the centre of the card and put the cut out animal shape to one side. Glue around the outline of the animal on the card, then carefully place strips of tissue paper across the cut out shape. Children can use a variety of colours, of their choice.
Once dry turn the card over so the glued side is at the back and either display on the wall, or place on the window to allow the sun to shine through the coloured tissue paper to create a stained glass window effect.
The cut out shapes need not be thrown away, instead use them to decorate with more strips of tissue paper, glitter or other collage materials and use as part of a wall display, or alternatively hang them from the ceiling.
