Ice Cream Birthday Chart

This is a colourful and fun way to display children’s birthdays during the summer months. This activity is suitable for children of all ages.

You will need:

  • Large Pieces of plain paper
  • Pens, pencils, crayons or paints

Activity:

On the large pieces of paper draw and cut out twelve large ice cream cones with three scoops of ice cream on the top. As a group the children can colour the ice cream cones using their chosen materials. Attach the ice cream cones to the wall and label each one with the name of the month.

Next cut out small circles of paper, one for each child and write their names and date of birth on them. Older children may be able to do this themselves. Once completed attach these circles to the corresponding months ice cream.

  1. As a child care worker I am always looking for activities that are away from the normal … eg balloons and I really like this idea. My group is under 2 but I can see the older ones creating this chart. Thanks

  2. Sounds like a great idea but would love to actually see it as I find it hard to visualise some ideas on the site.

  3. This is a fun idea and I may use it as part of our birthday board. I am going to divide it up into seasons and use the cones for the summer birthdays. Thanks

  4. I agree with ideas a small picture to show what it looks like would help alot. please let me know could this be possible to do?

  5. Thank you so much! i was thinking to do something new for the kids and this will be very useful for my birthday chart… thanks again.
